Why Reflect?
Reflecting helps to highlight the positive moments and identify where there is room for improvement
How to Reflect?
There is no right or wrong way to reflect, you will find that what works for you may not work for others. Some people find private reflecting works better for them whilst others may prefer reflecting out loud.
Ideally, you’ll be really organised, choose a time/day to reflect so that it becomes a habit or you may prefer to reflect where and when you can.
Reflective questions
The best way to start reflecting is asking yourself questions about the experience you would like to reflect on. Think about what page in your Plus Planner you would like to record your findings (monthly reflection, notes page, quarterly reflection). It is always good to record your reflective practice so that you can remember, learn and develop in the future.
Try starting with these:
- What did I learn?
- What went well?
- What was easy?
- What was challenging?
- What went badly?
- How can I improve in the future?
- What do I need to learn more about?
- Why did I feel the way I did?
